Welcome to Cornerstone Nurseries Ltd
Cornerstone is a new venture for already well established nursery owners/directors who wish to put a new slant on the quality childcare they already provide across the city.
Cornerstone nurseries are a Sheffield based group of Nurseries & Preschools offering excellence in Childcare. The first, Beechwood Day Nursery in Jordanthorpe, as opened in April 2011, shortly followed by the take over of Oak Valley Day Nursery in Halfway and Highgate Day nursery in Handsworth.
We are an approved nursery provider for the local authority and are able to provide funded education and childcare for 2, 3 and 4 year old children. We have the the advantage of lower fees as parents are asked to provide their own nappies and lunches, things which tend to result in much higher fees in other settings. However we are able to offer lunches for a small fee for those parents who prefer that option.
The baby rooms have specially selected staff that provide plenty of love & cuddles for little ones. Special attention is paid to the home routine of each child to ensure a seamless individual care plan between home & nursery. We pride ourselves on meeting the individual needs of all the babies in our care.
A varied & stimulating schedule of activities are provided for the toddlers where music, sensory experiences & outdoor time is of the highest priority. Stories, singing, rhymes and conversation are important to develop children's ever growing vocabulary, knowledge and confidence.
The Pre School rooms follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) guidelines as set out by the government and all children are entitled to free pre school education. Phonics, letters and sounds are taught to the children. French or Spanish will be offered to the children as an additional language.
A keyworker is assigned to each child in order to provide a ‘first port of call’ for each child & their parents/carers & daily information is given at hometime.
